The Siersza Power Plant
in Trzebinia is a part of The Southern Power Concern S.A.
Katowice since 2001. It is situated in the north-western
part of the Malopolska Voivodeship in the Trzebinia administrative
territory and was constructed between 1962-1970 as a system
power plant. It consists of six coal-fired boiler power
units with total installed power 740 MW. The Power Plant
produces electric energy which is evacuated to the national
grid along 110 and 220 kV lines as well as thermal energy
which is intended for local residents.

The power
plant was designed to burn coal with a high sulfur and
ash content. It burnt the fuel according to its design
till the 90s. |
